Bed Rest

Simply Vera Vera Wang Pure White Coverlet
As many of you know, I spent last week in the hospital after being diagnosed once again with pre-eclampsia. After the 4th day of testing, my condition stabilized, and they let me come home on "bed rest". Thankfully, I don't have to stay in bed all day, I can sit & even walk around. I just can't do anything to elevate my heart rate. It gets really, really boring, but it's worth it for the baby- she would have a rough start if she were born now. As far as what is going to happen now, we don't really know. I am basically a walking time bomb! My condition can worsen overnight enough to have to deliver the baby. So until that happens I have to have 2 non-stress tests done per week, 2 amniotic fluid index test done per week (to make sure the baby is not losing fluid, a 24 hour protein count per week, and a checkup with my OB once a week. We'll do that until around 36 weeks (if I make it that far) then my Dr. will induce labor at that point. We have had an unbelievable amount of help this past couple of weeks & we are so grateful to everyone who has been helping out. From calling to see how things are going, to bringing food, cleaning & watching Devri- everything is so appreciated. We have so many wonderful friends & family members. Thank you so much. We love you!

April, What a trooper. I hope you are not going crazy. I guess this could be a great time for hobbies you won't have time for after the baby scrap booking, reading, Books on tape are great, learn how to croquet, movies, crafts, make file folder games. I am not very creative, but find something you enjoy to keep you from getting bored.

I wish I lived closer so I could help! But I love you and my thoughts and prayers are with you! Please just make it about 5 more weeks! We want that new little one to be as healthy as possible!

I hope you are doing alright. I was never put on bed rest with the twins but I was put on low activity which can be extremely difficult with a toddler so I feel for you. Hope you can hold out for a bit longer. It's a good thing you have so much family around.
